Content marketing is waar het momenteel allemaal om draait. De exponentiële groei in aandacht voor content marketing is te danken aan de recente veranderingen in het zoekalgoritme van google. Zoekwoorden wegen minder zwaar, het draait nu meer om de inhoud. “”Sommige noemen content marketing het nieuwe SEO.”” Persoonlijk zie ik content marketing niet als de heilige graal, maar de waarde die het merken kan bieden zie ik zeker.

De doelstelling van Google is om haar gebruikers te voorzien van optimale zoekresultaten. Dit betekend kwalitatieve content die zo relevant mogelijk is aan de zoekopdracht. Middelmatige content is niet langer in staat de zoekresultaten te toppen door middel van slimme SEO trucjes. Begrijp me niet verkeerd. Content moet nog steeds geoptimaliseerd worden voor SEO. Je red het echter niet meer met een middelmatige inhoud die niet echt meerwaarde biedt.

Effectief content marketing toepassen zorgt niet alleen voor meer hits via de zoekmachines. Ook is het publiceren van kwalitatieve content een zeer goede asset voor merk imago. Het aanbieden van waardevolle informatie kan een merk veel opleveren:

Naamsbekendheid
Erkenning van deskundigheid
Vertrouwen
Vermaak

Toch meer van de ‘concrete’ ROI?
Bedrijven die content marketing gebruiken om leads te genereren spenderen tot wel 80% minder aan kosten per lead.

Wees geen schreeuw in de woestijn – Creëer conversie raketten

Bedrijven slaan vaak de plank mis als het gaat om effectieve content.

Content, dat is waar het anno 2013 allemaal om draait. Effectieve content is content die de klant inspireert en overtuigd. Content die jou geloofwaardigheid geeft als expert. Content zonder duidelijke boodschap is geen waardevolle content. Content zonder call to action of conversie is geen waardevolle content.

Denk na over het specifieke doel van je content.

Content moet een specifiek doel hebben. Veelvoorkomende fouten in publicaties zijn dat de content niet genoeg relevantie biedt – geen niche heeft, meerdere ‘call to action’s’ bevat, of juist helemaal geen. Krachtige content zet aan tot conversie en creëert vertrouwen (denk aan inbound marketing).

Werk aan je ‘Call to action’.

Stel jezelf de vraag waarom je een stuk content publiceert. Wat heeft je publiek er aan? Wat heb je er zelf aan? Natuurlijk publiceren bedrijven om te informeren en vertrouwen te winnen, dat neemt niet weg dat elk stuk content een ‘call to action’ moet bevatten. Geen conversiemomenten inbouwen in je content is een kans missen. Je content wordt misschien wel gelezen, maar that’s it!

Conversie stimuleren is niet bepaald ‘rocket science’. Het is zelfs vrij eenvoudig en kan op talloze manieren gedaan worden. De meest effectieve weg naar conversie is natuurlijk verwijzen naar producten of diensten relevant aan de inhoud van je publicatie. Maar conversie kan ook gegenereerd worden door de lezer meer informatie aan te bieden via whitepapers, andere onderzoeken of blogs. Weet je lezer te boeien door gerelateerde informatie aan te bieden en zorg zo dat deze meer te weten wilt komen over jou en het bedrijf waar je voor werkt. Creëer betrokkenheid. Geïnteresseerde lezers worden ambassadeurs van jouw content. Ze delen het via social media en vertellen hun netwerk over dat ongelooflijk interessante artikel dat ze vanochtend hebben gelezen. Je bereik wordt groter, en de kans op potentiële leads verhoogt.

Bevorder de effectiviteit van je content door middel van A/B tests.

Heb je relevanten en krachtige keywords? Word je content gedeeld door invloedrijke bronnen? Schrijf je over veelbesproken topics, Is er veel concurrentie aanwezig op de betreffende topics? Dit zijn enkele factoren die invloed zullen hebben op het succes van je content. Wees hiervan op de hoogte. (Win at Content Marketing)
Hoe kun je je doelgroep dieper segmenteren?
Om de content zo relevant mogelijk te maken is het belangrijk in de niche van je doelgroep te gaan zitten. Op deze manier is de kans dat de informatie die je aanbied precies hetgeen is waar de lezer naar op zoek is. (Niche Marketing: Targeting the Best Prospects)
Op welke momenten wordt er geconverteerd?
Converteren je lezers op het moment dat jij dat wenst? Je wilt niet dat de lezers te grote sprongen nemen, en van je pad afwijken. Je wilt ze eerst de juiste informatie aanbieden voor ze verder afdwalen over het pad dat jij voor ze hebt uitgestippeld. (Marketingfacts: Hoe meet je conversie?)

Content marketing is de schakel tussen jouw producten en de informatiebehoefte van je doelgroep.

Content marketing is geen nieuw fenomeen, bedrijven en personen publiceren al jaren content. De reden dat content marketing nu zo’n specifiek aandachtspunt is, komt door de recente wijzigingen in de techniek achter zoekmachines (Meer). Voorheen kon met bepaalde technieken (SEO) hoog gescoord worden in zoekresultaten zonder echt sterke, relevante content aan te bieden. Echter heeft Google als doel de gebruiker de meest relevante en kwalitatieve resultaten van een zoekopdracht te bieden (Meer). – Waar het vroeger draaide om de opbouw in techniek van je website draait het nu om de kwaliteit en relevantie van je content.

The Contentious State of B2B Content Marketing

More. If one word could describe content marketing at the end of 2012, that would be it. According to the latest finding from the content marketing institute and MarketingProfes, B2B marketers are spending more, using more tactics and distributing their content on more social networks then they have in the years past. Unfortunately, there is also more uncertainty. B2B marketers are more uncertain whether they are using various content marketing tactics effectively.

On avarage, B2B marketers are spending 33% of their marketing budgets on content marketing, which is up from 26% last year. 54% plan on increasing content marketing spending next year.
All content tactics are being used more frequently, with research reports, videos, and mobile content seeing the largest increases.
On avarage, B2B marketers are using 5 social distribution channels, the most popular being LinkedIn (Twitter was the most popular the previous 2 years).

This year, B2B marketers are most challenged with producing enough content, which is different from years past, when the top challenge was producing engaging content.

Five Steps to Successful Content Marketing

You content deserves a successful content marketing strategy. Publishing, blogging or advertising. It’s all a way of producing and publishing content. You should be proud of the content you write, and naturally you want other people to be aware of the great stuff you have to offer. So how do you get people to notice you? How do you stand out in a crowd where in today’s market, every company is a publisher?

In this post, I will not tell you how you should create your content or what topics you should write about. Instead I will talk about some small steps that are, in my opinion, crucial to the process of having a valuable and successful content marketing strategy. There are a lot of articles out there that write about this subject that contain a lot of interesting information about this topic. To speed up your process I’ve chosen to make a graphical sort of ‘plan of approach’, which you can use as a short checklist to implement your successful content marketing. A successful content marketing strategy consists of a constant supply of high quality content. Just writing one good article won’t cut it anymore. If you want your website to win and score high in the search rankings, you will have to be an authority of knowledge in your industry.

I am not what you call a ‘guru’ on the subject of content marketing but I do like to share my thoughts. What do you think is the most crucial part of content marketing? After some downtime, my personal website is back online.

I had some serious problems with targeted hack-attacks. Several times my old website got hacked and my host cut me off due too high traffic abuse.

I’ve chosen to start from scratch again, with a complete new WordPress website. An up-to-date theme, and all the security modules I could find. I hope to provide you with some solid content soon, and apoligize for not all previous content being available.
